Minimum Operating System Requirements and Supported Components

With the release of version 19, Parallels® Remote Application Server (RAS) will update its minimum system requirements.

Advance Notice

This announcement provides you with advance notice about Parallels RAS minimum supported operating system requirements and supported components to enable you to plan your IT strategy accordingly.

The deprecation of components and features is not immediate and applies to Parallels RAS 19 and future releases with alternatives provided where possible. Parallels RAS 18 will continue to support these deprecated items. Parallels RAS 18 is a Long Term Supported (LTS) version, supported until December 2023.   • The Parallels Client for Windows used to launch Azure Virtual Desktop resources will be supported on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • The Parallels HTML5 (Web) Client and the Management portal will not support Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE), in line with IE retirement announcement by Microsoft.

The following changes in terminology will apply to Parallels RAS 19 and beyond:

If you are using performance monitoring counters, please make sure that the names of the counters are updated to reflect the terminology changes as part of the upgrade planning to Parallels RAS 19. For example "Parallels RAS Publishing Agent" performance counter name will be updated to "Parallels RAS Connection Broker".

Customers are recommended to plan ahead in case using any deprecated operating systems or features. However, Parallels RAS 18 will continue to support these deprecated items until 2023. Check out the end-of-life announcement for more information.
