I have a misconfigured VM that will only boot into the virtual bios.

In this state, I am unable to shutdown the VM via the Action --> Shutdown menu option, it remains running.
This also means I am unable to reconfigure the machine, since it is technically still running.

The only option I have is to suspend/resume the machine, which doesn't help.
I can remove the machine entirely and start again (which I've just done), but that's not ideal.

I've been trying other platforms, such as qemu and VirtualBox. Since the SoundBlaster 16 emulation was not implemented in those, I got Parallels.

Since Android 9 is one of the pre-packaged OS downloads, I would have thought there would be more information about it and what it can do and what it can't. I was looking for Parallels Tools to install so I could at least use copy and paste and move the cursor in and out of the window, but I can't seem to really find anything in the documentation about it.

I tried to install an old release of FreeBSD (4.4) yesterday and the OS didn't recognize the NICs. My mac pro has two NICs and a more current release of FreeBSD (8.2) sees them as:

I can't find a way to access to the UEFI Secure boot menu. I want to view and edit the keys/signatures.
I already setup the boot flags :
vm.efi.secureboot = 1
vm.bios.efi=1

The only time I saw this menu was just after the first reboot after installing a fresh Ubuntu with secure boot support.

UEFI resolution on FreeBSD

Hello all
I have a FreeBSD VM that I've installed as 'Other' for the OS choice. It's working fine for my needs but annoyingly I can't get a resolution other than 1024x768. In the FreeBSD boot prompt you can type `gop list` to list the resolutions that I am guessing UEFI is telling BSD what resolutions are available. I there any way of expanding this list to include other resolutions, or is this a restruiction of using the 'other' OS option? View attachment 21183

Please, it would be appropriate to provide "Parallels Tools" also for FreeBSD, which now runs very well, in version 13.2, on Parallels (here in ARM version in my macBook pro M3 pro) and first provide a suitable BSD icon for configuration, to avoid using an anonymous "other" icon.

I'm trying to create a FreeDOS VM just for fun. I've selected the ISO, the other OS type and gone to the machine configuration, but I can't find an option under the CPU tab to enable x86 emulation, and I thought there was meant to be an option there. Is there something I'm missing?

Hello,
I was finally able to get FreeBSD 13.1 working on my M1 Mac. Networking, mouse and KDE5 run just fine. Can't do much about the 1024x768 resolution though.
I haven't been able to get sound to work. Any ideas?
openjdk doesn't work either, but that seems to be more of an aarch64 thing on M1 and clang13.

1) Installing Solaris: The Solaris 10 and current version of PD5 are not in friendly terms on ACPI-tables.

To workaroung it is required to forcibly turn on APIC for VM for the install would be able to proceed:

I understand it's still in testing, but I just installed Android 9 in a VM on Parallels 16 running on a 2019 MBP. While I got it to boot and logged in, it is almost but not quite entirely unusable. I configured it with the default RAM and disk sizes, has anyone got it running smoothly, and if so, what settings did you use? I'm just not that familiar with the Android platform (trying to change that via this VM) so I don't know what's reasonable for RAM, Graphics RAM, cores, etc.

I have some issues with installing FreeBSD 12.1 (amd64) from the official ISO images into a Parallels VM. I tried all kinds of ISO images (dvd, cd for both x86 and amd64), but no matter which image I choose, it always stops with an error message from the boot loader.
