Hi I use a Mac with two screens. Since about 3 month I get from time to time, when the computer is not used for an hour or so, that suddenly all Icons disappear on my screen. I can see the Icons in the Terminal, but not in the finder. Usually a recover with time machine works. I tried the command defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop true; killall Finder. I think that worked as well one time. Searching for the reason, I think, the the error is caused for any reasons through the presentation mode. I unclicked now hide desktop files in presentation mode. Till now the error did not happen again. So I assume it must be an error caused for any reasons through presentation mode. Can somebody look into that ?
