Ive updated the windows updates and did a restart but it just sits at the spinning circle with a black screen its been there for about a day doing that, So I deleted and reinstalled parallels but still have the same problem.

I had the same problem today, presumable from a Windows update. Restarting Windows or even restarting my MacBook Pro would just cause the black screen and spinning circle to resume upon startup. I found a solution elsewhere on this Community message board - Hold down the 'Option' key and use the Parallels pulldown menu to go to Parallels > Actions > Stop. That fixed it immediately for me.

    Good luck!

Confirm that this fix definitely works and is still current as of July 12 2024. Surprised that this fix is not listed in Parallels troubleshooting guide as this appears to be a common problem. I experienced the identical issue previously and unfortunately ended up reinstalling window 10 to fix and as a result lost a lot of time.

Can you explain in more detail? What Parallels pulldown menu? I feel like an idiot. But I can't find what you are talking about.
