Hi. I've been trying to install SolidWorks 2023 (SP2.1) (Student Edition) on a fresh Windows 11 installation on Parallels. Keep getting a message saying "The installation folder contains data from previous SolidWorks versions" (or something along these lines). Tried installing the previous version, but somewhere in the middle of the installation I get another error message asking for the right file (well, at least this version tries to download and install something... at least). Has anyone tried installing SolidWorks successfully in a Mac with Parallels? Thanks.
HI, I'm going to switch from MAC INTEL to MAC M3, I'm a solidworks 2023 user.... (2024 as soon as SP.2 will be released) and I absolutely need It to work. What about SOLIDWORKS running on M3.... Is it everything Ok as old intel processor? Does performaces are better or get worse? Any problem with registry tweak for REAL VIEW GRAPHICS? Thank you in advance for any reply.
I'm running Solidworks 2023 on an M3 Pro and have absolutely no issues with it. RealView Graphics works flawlessly too after doing the registry edit. The only issue I had was rendering something which I think is because Solidworks doesn't recognize the GPU of my system. Just make sure to turn off Solidworks Electric and CAM when installing Solidworks. This is the video I followed to set everything up:
Hi, yes saw this video a couple of monte ago and a tried on MacBook Pro M3 top performance machine. Unfortunatelly the performance with Solidworks 2023 and 2024 get worse. I manage very complex geometry and graphic performance are lower than Mac-Intel processor. With regret I leave MacBook after 8 years and switched to Windows laptop workstation.
Hello, Installing SolidWorks on a Mac using Parallels can be tricky due to compatibility issues. However, some users have reported success. Here are a few steps you can try: Clean Installation: Ensure you're starting with a fresh Windows 11 installation in Parallels. Download Correct Version: Make sure you're downloading the correct version of SolidWorks 2023 (SP2.1) for Windows. Registry Cleanup: Manually remove any remnants of previous SolidWorks installations from the registry. This might help resolve the error related to previous versions. Compatibility Mode: Try running the installer in compatibility mode for an older Windows version (e.g., Windows 10). Contact Support: If issues persist, reach out to SolidWorks support for specific guidance. Remember that running SolidWorks on a virtual machine can have limitations, so results may vary. Good luck.
