Hey friends! I found myself looking for a solution to fix smooth scrolling while working on a visual studio project. Overall, I've actually found visual studio to be quite usable under parallels, but I did need to configure smooth scroll to match the hosts own scrolling sensitivity. If you're having problems with two-finger scroll either not working, or the scroll is scrolling way too fast, then you'll want to try this:

    1. Configure the scrolling on the host by going to System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Pointer Control -> Trackpad Options. Use Trackpad and Inertia should be turned on, and the scroll speed should be set to (whatever you please) but I've found the kind of high works well.

    2. Go into the VM settings Actions -> Configure -> Mouse & Keyboard. Pick "Don't optimize for games". All this is going to do is not trap your mouse cursor the same way it ordinarily would where you'd have to press the release hotkey.

    3. Go to Windows Settings and configure the mouse: Start -> Settings -> Bluetooth & Devices -> Mouse. OK here you need to be sure to change the drop-down from "one screen at a time" to "multiple lines at a time". I set the number of lines to 3. (This already makes a huge difference because in my case it was trying to scroll an entire screen at a time..)

    4. Finally, configure the application you are using. The scroll defaults on Firefox seemed ok to me, but I found that I needed to change the defaults in Visual Studio as well. To do that you go to Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> Advanced then go to the bottom and set the lines to scroll to match whatever you set in step 3. (I put three lines per scroll in mine) I should mention 10 seemed fine for horizontal scroll, but you could change that too if you want to. ~

Ok thanks friends! Let me know if this works for you guys. I don't own a Magic Mouse / Trackpad, but this works for me using the built-in trackpad on an M1 MacBook Pro.
